Sky Movies Premiere: PREMIERE Friday 17 July, 1pm and 9.45pm

Nicolas Cage seeking justice again after the Russian mob kidnaps his teenage daughter. A reformed criminal, Cage seeks the help of former cronies Max Ryan and Michael McGrady and does what Liam Neeson would’ve done if the Albanians had got away with it in Taken. Basically, what Steven Seagal does if you look at him funny. Lacking a scrap of originality, this violent generic crime thriller reeks of video releases from the 90s. And the moral is: drunk teenagers shouldn’t play with guns. Well, duh. Spanish director Paco Cabezas made his first two flawed but curious features, The Appeared (2007) and Neon Flesh (2010), in Argentina. Working in English hasn’t done him any favours.
