Ryan Kwanten is the new young constable in a one-horse town in Victoria’s high country – and the animal’s parked outside the police station run by Steve Bisley’s grizzled Old Bill. Any hopes of a quiet life in Red Hill, a dead-end outpost since the local saw mill shut down, are wrecked by news of a prison breakout by convicted killer Tom E.
Lewis, who has unfinished business with Bisley. Director Patrick Hughes’ impressive debut feature – he also wrote the script and edited the film – is an unpretentious revenge western with pawky humour and a High Plains Drifter vibe.
