Horror movie buff Anton Yelchin relieved he now won’t have to break up with controlling girlfriend Ashley Greene. She’s been hit by a bus. But his budding romance with ice-cream parlour gal Alexandra Daddariois splattered by Greene’s return… from the dead.
Coming so soon after Life After Beth (no earth shaker itself), this ‘zom-com’ is a distinctdis appointment from Roger Cor man protégé Joe Dante, the lively mind behind the likes of Gremlins, Small Soldiers and Matinee.
Sure, it’s always swell to see Dick Miller again, no matter how small the role(he’s the grumpy cop), but this B-pic genre mashup is a big step down from Dante’s previous ‘comeback’ feature, The Hole. Corman reportedly told Dante Burying the Ex ‘looks just like a New World picture’. “Highpraise indeed, coming from Roger,” said Dante, laughing. But it isn’t really, is it?
