Fairytale: Story of the Seven Dwarves

Sky Movies Premiere: PREMIERE Friday 23 October, 6am, 12.15pm and 6.30pm

Singer Nina Hagen voices evil witch Dellamorta, cursing Peyton List’s princess Rose in a German animation confusing Sleeping Beauty with Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. This witch might just win – she’s got Burner the Dragon on her team. In the original, Daniel Welbat voiced Burner.

Here, it’s Canadian comic Norm MacDonald. The Dirty Work star is used to such indignities. His previous job was voicing the title role in the unfunny children’s comedy Vampire Dog. In a post-Shrek world, there’s no place for a cartoon as lazily derivative and unimaginative as this.

I could be wrong, but it looks suspiciously like the dwarfs are leering at this strangely buxom Snow White. There are songs, too. It’s followed by the 45-minute mini-feature Lego DC Comics Super Heroes: Justice League vs Bizarro League. Hey, it could be worse. Sky Movies Family has Moshi Monsters: The Movie at10am.
