Families have always loved partaking in the classic tradition of making gingerbread houses, but one particular bunch took things to a whole new level this Christmas.
Yes, a group of super-Kubrickians created a scarily-good replica of the haunted Overlook Hotel from The Shining and posted photos of their handywork to Reddit.
“We worked on and off for about two weeks,” agkeeling wrote. “My dad does all of the design from photos. We do one nearly every year – no duplicates.”
The confection has a green Rice Krispie treat hedge maze and interior rooms depicting famous scenes from the 1980 Stanley Kubrick film, including the famous “Here’s Johnny!” scene with Jack Nicholson and Shelley Duvall.
