On Tuesday night, DC fans were treated to the first glimpse of the entire Justice League team after some cool concept art was unveiled. Warner Bros are steadily starting to build their onscreen universe to rival Marvel, incorporating some of the most famous superheroes into their “Extended Universe.”

Now however, the Justice League films have become even more exciting after it was confirmed that Green Lantern Corps will be included. To date, there hasn’t been any Green Lanters in discussions of the Justice League so it comes as a pleasant surprise.

During the DC Films Presents: The Dawn of the Justice League special that aired on The CW, DC Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns confirmed to Kevin Smith that the upcoming Justice League films will include the intergalactic police force.

He said: “We’ve been to the bottom of the ocean, we’ve been to ancient Greek mythology, we’ve been to the past and future with the Flash, we’ve been to the digital world with Cyborg.  We still got to go to space. So the Green Lanterns and the Green Lantern Corps are coming to join the Justice League universe.”

It’s exciting news, even if no other information was revealed. We know that Ryan Reynolds’ heavily-maligned iteration of Hal Gordon won’t be returning to the DCEU, so it’s unclear as to what involvement the Green Lantern Corps will have.

Ezra Miller (Flash), Ray Fisher (Cyborg) and Jason Momoa (Aquaman) each appeared in the special to discuss their respective characters but no actors were shown to represent Green Lantern. The special did supposedly feature some artwork for the character though. Things keep getting better and better for DC fans.
