Do us a favour: have a look at this Captain America: Civil War poster for Scarlet Witch.

See anything amiss?

Well, to the untrained eye, it just looks like another run-of-the-mill poster for Civil War, featuring a supporting character posing in the typical fashion. However, if you look closer, you’ll see the faded face of a dead Marvel character.

Observe below…

Why yes, that is Quicksilver lurking ominously over Elizabeth Olsen‘s shoulder. As you may remember, the Marvel Cinematic Universe version of Quicksilver (Marvel share the character rights with 20th Century Fox, which is why you’ll also see a Quicksilver in X-Men: Apocalypse) died during Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s Quicksilver bowed out of the MCU in heroic fashion during the Avengers’ climactic showdown with Ultron and his minions, speeding in front a rain of bullets intended for Hawkeye.

Now, we’re not exactly sure if this means Quicksilver will come back from the grave at some point (or if it’s some pesky photoshopping even though Quicksilver’s face appears on the poster several outlets have put up, although Captain America: Civil War seemed to hint that Scarlet Witch is powerful enough to perform such an act. The manner in which Civil War positioned Scarlet Witch and with her powers clearly escalating at a frightening rate, we wouldn’t be surprised if she brought Quicksilver back in time for the huge showdown with Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War.
