It’s safe to say that after the lukewarm response garnered by Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, there’s a considerable deal of pressure on Suicide Squad. The trailers have been absolutely brilliant, yes, but some disconcerting reports suggested that David Ayer’s film was having a few problems of its own, with major third-act reshoots being required. While initial reports suggested the reshoots were concerned with injecting more humour into the film, that has been denied.

While we may be three months out from Suicide Squad dropping into theatres, a small group of fans reportedly got to see the film during a special advance screening at MCM London Comic Con and there was a test screening at Century 25 Union Landing in California. They have posted their initial thoughts online.

Now, before we go any further, let us stress in the strongest possible way that these reactions should not be taken at face value. While it’s exciting to see unanimously positive reactions right from the outset, very similar posts did the round on Twitter before Green Lantern, last year’s Fantastic Four and Batman v Superman. While the latter ended up being divisive, the former two are considered a couple of the worst superhero films ever made.

The tweet reactions, collected by ComicBook.com, call the new movie “pretty great” and “amazing.” The reactions hailed the performances of Margot Robbie and Will Smith as Harley Quinn and Deadshot respectively. There was also some positive comments for Jared Leto’s highly-anticipated turn as The Joker. However, it seems to be that Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje’s Killer Croc steals some scenes and supposedly left one viewer rolling in the aisles with laughter.
