For a long time, Marvel fans have been like ‘Hey, where’s our Planet Hulk film?” We’ve had two Hulk films, one with Eric Bana and one with Ed Norton. They were fine. But now both of those dudes are history. Mark Ruffalo is the big green guy and he’s doing a damn fine job too. In fact, Marvel Studios are so happy with how Ruffalo has ripped out of his clothes in the Avengers movies (excluding his shorts, of course), they’re making Thor: Ragnarok a Planet Hulk mashup.

We almost hear the mass Marvel nerdgasm exploding as we write.

Essentially, the dastardly folk at Universal Studios own the rights to standalone Hulk movies so the MCU can’t have a Planet Hulk solo film. What they’ve done instead though is make Hulk a prime attraction in a start-studded and increasingly enticing third Thor movie (his standalone trilogy needs a bit of a shot to the arm after The Dark World).

JoBlo has the good news: The film will definitely have the Planet Hulk element in it, operating as a kind of mash-up with the Ragnarok story. How Thor ends up on the planet in question is unclear, but he will definitely be involved in some gladiatorial games run by none other than Jeff Goldblum’s Grandmaster. In terms of Hulk’s appearance in this portion of the film, he will be rocking the one-shoulder armour as seen in the comics, so expect him to be decked out in the familiar Planet Hulk look.

So, this is glorious news indeed. Thor: Ragnarok is an intergalactic road movie with the Asgardian warrior and big green guy co-headlining. Interestingly, JoBlo also point out that Chris Hemsworth will NOT be sporting the luscious blonde locks that we’ve come to associate with his character. We don’t know how we feel about that. What we do know is that a Planet Hulk element sounds absolutely delicious and for anyone who has read the comic, you know you’re in for a real treat. Marvel bowed Captain America’s trilogy out in style and there’s no reason Thor shouldn’t get the same grand treatment (which is presumably why they’ve

Thor: Ragnarok will arrive on November 3rd, 2017 and, yes, you should be most excited about it. Here’s the JoBlo video report below…
