Warning: Spoilers!

In the latest Game of Thrones episode, titled ‘The Broken Man,’ we saw a brief scene featuring Sansa writing a mysterious letter behind Jon Snow’ back.

While it was clearly mysterious, both in its content and destination, one gloriously observant Redditor has used his decoding skills to reveal what Sansa’s letter says.

u/CreepyPancakes (order us up a short stack of what he’s having), revealed the letter as reading the following:

“[…] Now you have a chance to fulfill your promise […] Knights of the Vale are under your command. Ride north for Winterfell. Lend us your aid and I shall see that you are [well/properly] rewarded.”

Sansa's letter

He explained his process on Imgur: “There we go. I’ve traced the legible words in black, and the barely legible (plus educated guesses on the missing ones, based on surrounding words) in red. “north” and “rewarded” are legible in other shots of the letter, such as when she stamps it. Question marks indicate a dubious word, but the most likely.”

So, it seems as though Sansa was writing to Littlefinger, who we last saw getting a telling off for betrothing Sansa to the murderous Ramsay Bolton.

Of course, this development would align with actor Aidan Gillen’s comments earlier in the season, where he hinted that Littlefinger would atone for leading Sansa into the arms of a maniacal freak.

“For me, this time out, there’s a level of atonement in relation to Sansa and my misjudgment of Ramsay Bolton,” he told Entertainment Weekly. “A lot of what I’m up to is atonement and really trying to align myself the right people … I left Sansa married to a psychopath. It’s probably the one time we’ve seen Littlefinger slip up. He really didn’t know about him. He should have.”
