We’re only weeks away from the rebooted cinematic vision of Ghostbusters hitting theatres, but Sony has unveiled plans for a new animated television series entitled “Ghostbusters: Ecto Force.”

Original Ghostbusters director Ivan Reitman is working on the project, with it set to focus on a new generation of Ghostbusters. According to Variety, it will be set in the year 2050.

This will be the third animated Ghostbusters series to date, after “The Real Ghostbusters” and “Ghostbusters,” both of which aired in the 80s. The Ecto Force project forms part of Sony’s Ghost Corp unit, which is mapping out plans for a Marvel-style cinematic universe that is set to be launched in earnest by the female-led reboot starring Melissa McCarthy, Kirsten Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones.

Here’s the info from the press release:

A brand new animated television series, GHOSTBUSTERS: ECTO FORCE, will further expand the Ghostbusters cinematic universe and focus on a new generation of Ghostbusters in the year 2050 who capture ghosts around the world with help from local teams—and some very cool gear!
